ok this is me overreacting to the cardinals(unable to watch a full guardians baseball as i was falling asleep during the game, i told ya lol, so can't tell how they will be looking like going into the season yet) just after one series. how silly.
so my biggest take away from the st. louis' opening series against toronto is that the offence definitely looks legit and the youngsters sure can play (at least so far). it's the pitching i'm concerned about (predictably). so many of them are not even decent you can say that. but the blue jays bats are pretty stacked too so i think i need to see a couple more series to get a better feel for that.
no matter how explosive the offence is, however it's extremely hard to be comfortable with the current state of their pitching. with the lack of quality depth in the starting rotation and the unreliability of the bullpen, if the team doesn't do anything else(ace, set up, lots of reliable arms), it would be another divison series exit. no, wild card series exit? first round i mean. whatever it is called.
