feeling so free going into playoffs with no hope this season 🥲 the key is to balance the lack of hope with the ability to still have fun 😃 because I 💚 STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS
ok so the boston bruins have set the nhl single season wins record. 65 wins. remarkable.
and the second east wild card team now has the option to do the funniest thing possible lol. this is a lot of the panthers but i think florida is still a fairly good team that underperforms into the last playoff spot, so if they get some decent goaltending, they might have a much better chance than most people think.
well a part of me want to let columbus retain one of its few claims to fame, but at the same time i enjoy fun things and i'm all for this happening again cause it's always funnier the second time. well well i know the bruins are a very very good team and also it's good for them to have a player in the lineup who was on that blue jackets team to make sure they don't get too ahead of themselves.
ok so a prime cbj repeat scenario starts with a goalie playing out of his mind. if it was islanders, i'd like their chances since ilya sorokin is clearly very capable of that. he could possibly steal the series.
but the panthers upsetting the bruins? to be honest i'd have a hard time thinking that is going to be happening.
well still.. as a believer of the presidents cup curse, absolutely nothing would be funnier than florida knocking boston out in the first round. if the blue jackets could take out the 2019 lightning(mind boggling still), florida (being much better) can beat boston who are what tampa bay was four years ago but upgraded. it's gonna be a good series nonetheless, i reckon the panthers can challenge the bruins.
wait come to think of it, 2019 columbus swept president cup tampa in the first round with no other than sergei bobrovsky in net who plays at the moment.. for the florida panthers. it's like he's a hitman and hired to send the highest winning teams in nhl history home?!??? well ok cool i'm buying this. way to go bob.
i don't know why but it's feeling sort of surreal the playoffs are starting today.

last year brock faber was a fan cheering on his hometown team minnesota wild
(such an endearing photo of him and kirill, they are officially teammates now)
he was originally drafted by the kings in 2020 and traded to the wild last june
brock faber on being traded to the minnesota wild: "it's pretty crazy considering i grew up watching the wild all the time as a kid and went to tons of games. it's pretty special as a kid from minnesota to play for the gophers and in the future have a chance to play for the wild"
and his favourite player growing up was jonas brodin and he dreamt of one day getting to learn from him? and now you get to share a locker room with him and have a chance to pair alongside with him(unlikely to happen anytime soon but you never know).
